“They Thought I Was Dead”: Wife Of Haiti’s Assassinated President

Washington, United States: The wife of President of Haiti who was killed, was seriously injured in an attack that killed her husband, listening to terror when gunmen ransacked their home, he said in his first interview since his murder.
The killers finally found what they were looking at President Jovenel Moise’s residence, and made a close effort on their way to see if Martine Moise’s first mother was still alive.

“When they left, they thought I was dead,” he told the New York Times in an interview published on Friday, a few weeks after the July 7 murder which stacked the fresh crisis in a fragile Caribbean country.

He survived and rushed for emergency care to the United States, where he spoke with newspapers while flanked by security guards, diplomats and families.

Martine was allowed to wonder what happened at 30 to 50 people who were usually posted to look after her husband at home. There are no guards killed, or even hurt.

“Only oligarchy and system that can kill him,” he said.

Haitian police have arrested Jovenel Moise’s security head, as well as about 20 Colombian mercenaries, over the plots they said were organized by a group of Haitians with foreign bonds.

Jovenel Moise has mastered the poor and excessive nation by decree, because of the violence of spiked gangs and Covid-19 spread.

His widow told the New York Times that the couple fell asleep when gunfire woke him up.

He called his security team for help, but soon the killers shot in the room. He was hit in hand and elbow.

When he lay bleeding, her husband died or dying in the same room, he felt like strangling because his mouth was so full of blood.

The killers speak only Spanish – Haitian language is Creole and France – and communicate by telephone with someone when they do an attack.

He said he didn’t know what Assassin needed, but it came from a shelf where her husband saved the file.

Martine Moise wants the killers to know that he is not afraid and seriously remembering running for the presidency as soon as he is healthy.

“I want people who do this to be arrested, if not, they will kill every president who takes power,” he said. “They do it once. They will do it again.”
