The Indian government has extended international commercial flight prohibitions until July 31, said the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in a circle on Wednesday. The prohibition of overseas aviation scheduled to end on June 30 after a 15-month gap.
Dedicated Cargo flights, flights under bilateral air bubble pact with certain countries will continue to operate, said Civil Aviation Watchdog.
“However, international scheduled aviation may be permitted on routes chosen by competent authorities based on case cases,” read circles.
International passenger services scheduled have been suspended in India since March 23, 2020 due to Covid-19 pandemics. But special international flights have been operating under the mission of Vande Bharat since May last year, and under bilateral “air bubble” arrangements with certain countries since July.
