Jerusalem, not defined: deadly rocket and mortar fire in Israel cities by Palestinian groups in Gaza during the May conflict is a war crime, said Human Rights Watch Thursday.
New York-based rights group analyzed the attack from Gaza which resulted in the death of 12 civilians in Israel and injured in tens of more.
Rockets that pale or fall short also kill or injure “amounts not determined from Palestine in Gaza,” said the group, with at least seven Palestinian civilians killed.
Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem rejected the accusation.
“Resistance exercise his natural right to defend the Palestinian people,” he told AFP.
Rocket was launched during the 11-day conflict that saw Israel Gaza Pound with an air strike as a ultras in the blockade bag firing more than 4,000 rocket towards Israel.
Israeli strikes killed around 260 people in Gaza, including ultras, while ammunition from Gaza killed 13 people in Israel, including a soldier.
The report came a day after UN Palestinian refugee agents Unrwa condemned “existence and potential use by Palestinian armed groups” from tunnels under his schools in Gaza, said they put students and staff “risky”.
The condemnation followed the request by the Israeli ambassador to the United Nations, Gilad Erdan, to freeze Unrwa funds after Israeli public television reported Hamas blocking the UN inspector from checking a tunnel near a school near a school near the school near the school.
Human Rights Watch previously accused Israel war crimes for strikes that killed dozens of civilians despite “no clear military targets around it” during the conflict that ended with a ceasefire May 21.
In the report on Thursday, the rights group quoted a statement by the Islamic Ruler Gazas Hamas and other groups announced rocket obstacles in Tel Aviv and other Israeli cities.
After a statement like that, broken fragments from the rockets killed a 63-year-old Israeli woman in the south of Tel Aviv. Other rocket killed a teenage father and daughter in a village about 20 kilometers (12 miles) from Tel Aviv.
“Under international humanitarian law … contained parties may only attack military goals,” said Human Rights Watch, added, “launching such rocket to attack civilian regions is a war crime.”
Hamas spokesman Qassem said the accusation was “unfortunate,” because “the crime was actually carried out by occupation by targeting civilians in recent aggression in the Gaza Strip, killing more than 100 children and women and destroying the residence.”
Human Rights Watch recommends that the International Criminal Court, who is investigating the alleged crime of Israeli war, must include “Palestinian rocket attacks that violate the law against Israel, and Israeli attacks that violate the law in Gaza.”
In April, Human Rights Watch accused Israel to commit “apartheid” crimes by trying to maintain the “domination” of Jews over Palestine in all fields under control, an alleged denied Israel.
