Sunset is one of the most beautiful times of the day. Not only do you get the chance to sit back and enjoy the stunning views, but it’s also the perfect conclusion to any day. This reminds you that tomorrow you get to start again and do everything fresh, which is an awesome reminder for most people.
El Paso is home to the best sunsets in the world. These are the best places to enjoy the evening and the local views while in town.
Best Time of the Year
Not all sunsets are created equally! El Paso allows you to enjoy beautiful views, but if you don’t visit at the right time of the year, you might miss the sunset as it comes through or could deal with something lackluster.
In the summer, you can get one of the most beautiful and dramatic sunsets as cloud cover from afternoon thunderstorms clears up, and the clouds create a beautiful vertical show to ensure you never want to look away.
In the autumn, leaves don’t change color much here unless you drive out to McKittrick Canyon, but the dry and clear weather ensures you’ll get beautiful vivid colors.
In the winter, you can hike without overheating! The daytime highs reach the fifties, and cities give you the opportunity to enjoy 5 pm sunsets after the hike of a lifetime.
In spring, the sunsets are beautiful, but they’re often longer and more muted in color. This is when you should enjoy everything El Paso offers before you check out the beautiful sunset.
Scenic Drive
If you’re not sold on putting an offer in on any of the many El Paso houses for sale, it’s time to check out Scenic Drive at sunset. The scenic drive was incredibly well-named! Along the tip of the Franklin Mountains, you get two different points where you can stop and take in the off-road parking and vistas available here.
There are plans to make this area ADA accessible, allowing you to enjoy views regardless of disabilities.
Wyler Aerial Tramway
This is the only sunset you’ll have to pay for, but at $8, it’s more than worth it! Operating from noon to seven pm, this tramway only closes for high winds and bad weather, when the sunset wouldn’t be much to look at otherwise!
This is a view of both America and Mexico, and three American states that allow you to enjoy the majestic beauty of the area while also getting a great view of the sunset.
Franklin Mountains State Park
If you want a view you have to earn, head to Franklin Mountains State Park! This amazing park offers sunset viewing spots that allow you to see every inch of a beautiful sunset, framed by some of the most incredible mountains and nature you can hike to. It’s easy to fall in love with these views.
Every Sunset Here Is Breathtaking
Whether you’re here for a weekend or a long trip, stopping and taking in the beautiful El Paso sunset is a good idea. There’s nothing quite like the many vistas, parks, drives, and hikes you can use to get the view of a lifetime here!
