Four Indian-American women have been racially harassed and beaten by a Mexican-American woman in the US Texas state who threw racist insults to them that they “damaged” America and had to “return to India”.
The incident occurred on Wednesday night in the parking lot in Dallas, Texas. The woman, who has now been captured, was seen in a video that identified herself as a Mexican-American and attacked a group of Indians.
“I hate you Indians. All these Indians come to America because they want a better life,” Esmeralda Upton is seen saying in the video. “You are Indians everywhere,” he added when throwing violations at four Indian-American women.
The video shows he tells a group of women to “return to India. You … people -people damage this country,” reported CBS News.
The video has now become viral and sent shock waves among Indian-American communities throughout the United States.
This video shows Upton using racial insults, and at one point physically hit at least two Indian women.
The person who posted this video wrote, “This incident happened in Dallas, Texas after my mother and his three friends went to dinner”.
The mother was seen fighting over the arguments made by Mexican-American women while staying calm. He was seen asking the attacker not to insult racial.
At one point, a Mexican-American woman, who said she was born in the United States, seen attacking her mother and other friends as well.
“Wherever I go, you are Indians everywhere,” he was seen screaming in the video. “If life is so great in India, why are you here,” he shouted, throwing the words-F.
He then suddenly began to attack the four Indian women.
Plano police detective arrested Esmeralda Upton from Plano on Thursday afternoon. He has been charged with attacks, body injuries and terrorist threats and detained with a total total of USD 10,000.
“This is very scary. He really has a weapon and wants to shoot because these Indian-American women have accents while speaking English. Disgusting. This terrible woman needs to be prosecuted because of racial crime,” Reema Rasool said on Twitter.
This incident is currently being investigated by the crime of the Plano Police Department against the units of people as racial crime.
The groups in North Texas who have relations with the Asian -South American community condemned the attack and said they were relieved that a suspect had been arrested.
Urmeet Junja, President of the North Texas Indian Association, said he thought that North Texas had largely become a friendly and safe place for people of South Asian descent, Dallas Morning News reported.
“We are happy that law enforcers have taken quick action and arrested this person. However, we also think that they must conduct a fair investigation and reach the basis of this problem and take this racial crime investigation to the conclusion,” said Urme Juneja Juneja.
“The events in Plano reminded me of the story that my parents and their friends told me repeatedly after 9/11 – fellow Americans saw them as other people and enemies,” said when Vik Ahluwalia, a spokesman for Asian Texas for justice was quoted as saying said by the report.
Chanda Parbhoo, Executive Director of South Asian American Voters Texas, said in a statement: “While we feel relieved, our community members are safe, listening to their screams for help from verbal, physical, and racist harassment released by this woman in a dark parking lot That’s annoying. “
