The topic for the summit is ‘BRICS @ 15: Intra-BRICS cooperation for continuity, consolidation and consensus’.
India has highlighted four priority areas for its presidency of the grouping: reform of the multilateral system, counterrorism, using digital and technological tools to achieve sustainable development objectives (SDGs) and improve exchanges of people to people.
“In addition to these areas, leaders will also exchange views on the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and other current current and regional issues,” said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement.

A meeting of the National Security Advisors of the BRICS group reviewed the political and regional and global security scenario, especially the developments in Afghanistan, Iran and Western Asia, during a virtual meeting on August 24.
